Keeping your bicycle safe

What locks work best? As cycling increases in popularity in New Zealand - unfortunately so does bike theft.  In the last few years we have seen a shift from being able to leave your bike secured with only a thin cable lock.     If your leaving your bike unattended for a length of time, we recommend either using a D or U Lock or if you need something longer to tie round larger poles, fences , bike racks - the Abus Folding Locks or Strengthened Chain Lock. You can also register your bike with www.snap.org.nz & a great article by Auckland transport also shows where there is good Auckland Bike Parking and how to lock your bike as securely as possible
